Daily 5x5 #1 - My Birthday

For awhile now I've been contemplating starting a new daily project. I considered starting the daily photos again; using Instagram this time as apposed to Daily Booth, as Daily Booth's failure to reliably work with my phone was a major part of my stopping the project. Instead I've decided to do a daily video project called a 5x5.

I discovered the "5x5" one day while I was going through the Vimeo Video School. It's a very simple video, just 5 clips, each 5 seconds long.

I'm sure my 25 second videos will get repetitive, like my daily photos - lots of clouds, lots of cats. But, it's a little bit of creativity to fit into each day.

And here is my first. Shot today, my birthday:

The other day I was going through a folder on my computer that contains the images from a camera I had years ago. I had forgotten that I had shot some video with it. It's very low quality video, but still they were cute shots of the cats that I would like to keep. So, I have made each one into it's own little (very low quality) scrapbook type video:

The Old Girl and the Old Boy

During the last 8 months or so I have spent most of my video shooting and editing time concentrating on either the nature around me or the homeless/feral kitties that we have been caring for and socializing in hopes that they can be adopted.

During this time I have unintentionally neglected the furbabies that are ours. I have done a few videos on our Chubby Girl Lelu and one on our Tiny Girl Tks. Up to ten days ago I had only done one on our Old Boy He-She and none on our Old Girl Mystic. And I have yet to do any on our Ginger Boy Friendly and our Dirty Boy Hey-Spike (I swear I've never met a cat who could as dirty as quickly as him).

I'll be attempting to fix that going forward. For now here are the recent videos I did about Mystic and He-She:

Today I chose three kitty images that aren't related. Usually when I use two images they were taken during the same few moments. These were all taken at different times, but I loved all of them, so here they are.

The first is our old girl Mystic in her window bed. The second is an old stray we call Smokey. He comes and disappears in just like smoke. Plus he's grey. The third is one of the ferals, Patch.
