We were beginning to think there wouldn't be snow for Christmas. However on December 26 the 2cm of snow that we were suppose to get turned into more like 12-15 cm.
Here is a timelapse video of clips I put together from that day:

The Original Scrooge
YouTube can be a vast treasure trove. I have found this gem from 1935 that is apparently the first screen adaption of A Christmas Carol, also just called Scrooge.

A Christmas Carol or Scrooge
Just watched the new Disney's Christmas Carol staring Jim Carey. It was okay, but 1971's Scrooge staring Albert Finney is still my favourite. Surprising since I'm not one for musicals.

Daily Christmas Light iPhone Photo #1
Today, to pick up the hobby again, I will start with my Daily Christmas Light iPhone Photos.
Today's photo is a massive (although it looks quite small in the photo. I was unable to get close enough) Christmas tree in someone front yard:

I'm way behind on my the "Weasley" Kitty Videos. This is day thirty from way back in June.

Snow, snow and more snow
The first *real* snow of the season arrived today. We had plenty of warning and were prepared. Still, as pretty as it is, I'm not a big fan of the snow and all it entails. I've started my count down to spring.
To make the best of it I decided I would try out the time lapse app I recently downloaded to my iphone. I put the phone in the front window and let it run from 9 am to 5 pm. There were a few falls (read cats playing with the power cord and pulling it out of the window), the quality isn't that great and I should have put it in a window facing the back yard where the amount of snow that fell is more apparent. However, it was my first time lapse experiment and I've learned what not to do next time.

They Are Gone.
Our babies; our four little gingers; our Weasleys; Freddy, Georgy, Ronnie and Ginnie are gone.
We knew from the beginning that we couldn't keep them, we had too many cats already. All because people treat cats like throw away, disposable animals, we end up with so many wandering around the village. A lot of them making their way to our back yard. We do our best but we can't take everyone in. And these four, being kittens have a chance at getting adopted.
Still it's painful. I love them so much.
It's been just over a week, but I still find myself tearing up when I think of them. Our Thunder. That's what we started calling them because of the sounds the made running from one end of the bathroom to the other.
We helped raise them for almost eleven weeks. We watched them learn to walk and climb, to use the litter pot and eat solid food. We were the ones who took them to the vet to get fixed and were the ones who worried about them while they healed from their surgeries.
For the last week they've been in the care of a Hants County NSSPCA foster home. This is where they will be while they wait to find their "furever" homes.
I can't stop worrying about how they are doing, or the kind of home they will get. They will always be a part of me. I know I will always think of them.
____________________________________________________________________
I'm still very behind on the videos I'm making about them. I find it quite hard right now to watch all the video clips of taken of them over the weeks.
The latest, Twenty-eight Days Old is up:
I've been finding it hard for a while now to edit these videos down to just a couple of minutes. I'm sure now that the kitties are gone I'm going to find it even more difficult to edit down the video. So, as each one is edited, they will probably get progressively longer. Beside, they are more meant for us as memories of the babies than they are for others.
Behind but not forgotten, part 3. – Daily iPhone Photograph #149 - #163

#152 - Making supper.
#153 - Yup. I have too much stuff.
#154 - I wonder what`s inside?
#155 - iPhone zoom sucks. I guess it kind of looks a bit painterly.
#156 - I just thought this looked kind of interesting.
#157 - I'm stitting on the deck.
#158 - Not really sure what kind of tree or bush this is, but I've always felt it looked a bit odd here.
#159 -Homemade light show.
#160 - Ice cream cone from a box. It was still good.
#161 - A heart in the sky.
#162 - I'm on a boat in Halifax Harbour.

Hannigar's Farm Park & Trail
On Natal Day, August 1, 2011, we stopped at the Hannigar's Farm market. After we did a little food shopping I wanted to go and see the ducks in the pond. I was unaware that Hannigar's actually had a little park. Such a nice discovery.

The Day of Thunder, Lightning and Rain
The weather in Nova Scotia is always unpredictable. That's just the way it is. When you live here you know this and rarely bat an eyelid when things seem a bit odd in the way weather. (Of course this doesn't stop us from complaining about it). However on Tuesday (August 2, 2011) things were more than a little bit odd, it was down right strange.
We knew we were expecting thunder storms to roll through. But I doubt very much that anyone really expected 8 hours (or more) of heavy rain...
...thunder...
...and more lightning then I have every seen in my life.
...thunder...
...and more lightning then I have every seen in my life.
The storm was a bit out of the ordinary. And while I do not possess a fear of thunder and lightning (personally I enjoyed the light show Mother Nature put on), I can say that I hope not to experience a storm like that again for quite some time.

Trip to the beach today. The tide was in, all the way up to the rock line you see here.
While we were there the tide started going out; very quickly.
